(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue chaired a meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction on Monday in Hanoi.

He praised the committee’s past performance and asked for the speeding up of projects to achieve sustainable poverty reduction goals. Mr. Hue emphasized the need to combine poverty reduction policy with socio-economic development and security policies: “It’s necessary to continue to review programs, reduce paper work and make recommendations to the government. We should uphold our role of assisting those who are determined to escape poverty for a better life and promote role models”.

The Central Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction will review its 6-month performance in August and devise the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction in the next 5 years.
