(VOVworld) - The second International Peace Drawings Contest for Vietnamese and foreign children living in Hanoi opened on Sunday, marking the International Day of Peace and the founding anniversary of the Vietnam Peace Committee.

The contest is sponsored by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, the Hanoi Peace Committee, the Hanoi Municipal Communist Youth Union, and the Hanoi Children’s Palace. The children’s colorful, detailed drawings express their love for their country and their wish for a peaceful and green world without hunger, poverty, or disease. Dao Thanh Huong, Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations and President of the Hanoi Peace Committee, said the competition sparked the children’s creativity and encouraged friendships between the Vietnamese and foreign children.
