Thua Thien-Hue province has organized seminars and forums for children to voice their ideas and recommendations for policy-making for children.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien-Hue provincial People’s Committee, has called on the community to work together to prevent and fight against child abuse, violence, accidents, and drowning.

“It’s important to raise the awareness of society, school, and family on protecting children and preventing child abuse and violence. Good people and good deeds should be honored while law violations, child abuse, and activities to entice children to crimes or obstruct children’s rights should be strictly dealt with. Localities should build safe and healthy summer holiday programs for children in collaboration with schools and families,” said Binh.

Deputy Secretary of Can Tho city’s Party Committee Pham Van Hieu said that educating and protecting children’s rights are important tasks for society. At the launch of the Month of Action for Children on Wednesday, Can Tho city’s Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs received from donors 10,000 notebooks and 64,600 milk bottles for disadvantaged children.
