Chile seeks Asia-Pacific economic integration

(VOVworld) – Chile is committed to Asia-Pacific economic integration and free trade, and will continue to fight trade protectionism, said Chilean Foreign Minister Heraldo Munoz at a Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) meeting that opened in Vina Del Mar City on Tuesday.
At the two-day meeting, foreign and trade ministers of the 12 TPP countries, plus China, Colombia, and South Korea will discuss ways to save the trade deal now that President Donald Trump has announced that the US is out.
This trade deal was a centerpiece of US economic policy in Asia during the administration of President Barack Obama.
