(VOVworld) – The fifth plenary session of the 18^th Chinese Communist Party Central Committee opened in Beijing on Monday.

The session is focused on the Party’s next 5-year plan of socio-economic development. During the 4-day meeting, deputies will consider proposals for the 5-year plan for the last time. A final draft will be approved at the annual National People’s Congress meeting in March 2016. Xinhua quoted a market forecaster as saying that the government’s new average annual economic growth target for the next five years will be 6.5 to 7 percent.
