(VOVWORLD) - China and France have issued a joint statement regarding the situations in Ukraine and Palestine.

In a joint statement that came during French President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to China, the leaders of the two countries emphasized their commitment to seeking constructive solutions based on international law, aimed at addressing challenges and threats to international security and stability.
Regarding the Ukraine issue, China and France affirmed their support for all efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire, ending hostilities, and restoring peace on the basis of international law and the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.
The two sides highlighted their readiness to contribute to appropriate initiatives and diplomatic measures to promote a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine, based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations.
Concerning the situation in Palestine, both sides stressed the need to create favorable conditions for the effective implementation of the “two-state solution,” considering it the only credible option capable of meeting the legitimate expectations of both Israelis and Palestinians for a fair and lasting peace and security.
The statement reiterated that China recognized the State of Palestine in 1988 and welcomed France’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine in September this year.
China and France affirmed their willingness to continue maintaining close exchanges and coordination on major issues related to international peace and security, particularly within the framework of the United Nations.
