The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said the US citing reasons of national security to suppress foreign companies is against the principles of fair competition and international trade, and will seriously harm international cooperation and increase foreign investors' anxiety about the US business environment.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said the US has been abusing state power to suppress foreign companies using measures such as export control. He said this violates the rules of free trade, and China will take all necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese businesses.
