(VOVworld) – China and the US agreed to establish a new model of major-power relationship, said China’s President Xi Jin-ping at a Sunday meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Beijing.

Xi said the model has obtained initial achievements, reflected in recent developments in their bilateral trade, investment, tourism, energy, and defense. Xi said bilateral relations between China and the US are stable and he expects open and substantial discussions with US President Barack Obama during his upcoming visit to the US in September. During his talks with the Chinese President, Kerry reiterated the importance of co-operation between the US and China in resolving international issues.
