Chinese media highlight NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung’s visit

(VOVworld) – Chinese media have given wide coverage to National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung’s visit to China last week. News agencies and broadcasting stations, including Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily newspaper, and CCTV, all ran reports highlighting talks between Chairman Hung and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Xinhua News Agency quoted President Xi Jinping as saying that he hails the cooperation between the two countries’ legislative bodies in past years. CCTV quoted Chairman of the National People’s Congress of China (NPC) Zhang Dejiang, who said the improvement of China and Vietnam’s friendship, solidarity, and cooperation are consistent with their common interests. China’s People’s Daily newspaper quoted Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng as saying that China attaches great importance to developing ties with Vietnam. In his talks with Nguyen Sinh Hung, he called for more exchanges of visits, appropriate handling of differences, and measures to further boost bilateral ties.
Chairman Hung’s activities in Hunan, hometown of the late Chinese President Mao Zedong, were also widely covered by Chinese media. Newspapers in Hunan and Guangdong spotlighted talks between Hung and Hunan provincial Party leader Xu Shousheng, and chairman of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Committee Huyang Longyun.
