Congratulations pour in on Vietnam’s National Day

(VOVWORLD) - Foreign leaders have sent messages and letters of congratulations to Vietnamese Party and State leaders on the country’s 75th National Day (September 2).

In their congratulatory messages, the Lao leaders affirmed that the great relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam will be always treasured and preserved.  Laos also congratulated Vietnam on successfully taking the role of Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Chair of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Council (AIPA) and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) affirmed their determination to consolidate and strengthen the bilateral relationship with the motto “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability.”

The Chinese leaders stressed that China attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and stays ready to join hands with Vietnam to promote the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a stable, healthy and sustainable manner.

In their messages, the Cuban leaders expressed their wish to further promote the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders said they believed that the two countries will join hands to further deepen the Russia-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership.

Leaders of Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Myanmar also sent congratulations to the Vietnamese leaders on Vietnam’s National Day.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, on behalf of the United States Government, on Tuesday congratulated Vietnam on the 75th National Day. The State Secretary's message affirms the impressive transformation of US-Vietnam relationship in trade, investment, and security cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, which is a testament to those who have made efforts to overcome the past and build a better future for the two countries’ people. The US will for the first time send Peace Program volunteers to Vietnam in line with the just signed agreement. The US also congratulates Vietnam for successfully assuming the ASEAN Chair in the challenging year 2020 and applauds Vietnam's close coordination in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
