Cooperation between Tochigi and Vietnam localities will be new bright spot, says PM

(VOVWORLD) -Cooperation between Tochigi prefecture and Vietnamese provinces will become a new bright spot and exemplify the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership,  Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on Wednesday.

Receiving Governor of Tochigi Prefecture Tomikazu Fukuda in Hanoi, Prime Minister Chinh said that the Japanese prefecture and Vietnamese localities have supplementary strengths and great potential for cooperation. He asked for further economic, trade and investment ties between the two sides and suggested more investment in Vietnam in fields of the prefecture’s strengths such as medical equipment, manufacturing and processing, agriculture and tourism.

The Prime Minister called on the prefecture to expand investment cooperation with not only Vinh Phuc but also other Vietnamese localities, and not only in economy but also in culture, sports, tourism, people-to-people exchange, labor cooperation, and import of agricultural and aquatic products from Vietnam.

The Governor said during the trip, he will sign a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and visit Vinh Phuc for  the singing of an MoU on cooperation with the Vietnamese province. Several Japanese enterprises will explore business opportunities in Vinh Phuc’s industrial parks and both sides will further enhance coordination in culture, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchange, he said.

He suggested the Vietnamese PM continue backing Tochigi’s cooperation programs with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, localities and businesses, as well as allow pear, strawberry and beef to enter the Vietnamese market.
