Countries begin to lift COVID-19 restrictions, reopen to tourism

(VOVWORLD) - The world had recorded almost 460 million COVID-19 infections and 6 million deaths as of Tuesday. 

More than 1.1 million new cases and over 3,900 deaths had been recorded in the past 24 hours. South Korea led the world in the number of new cases (310,000), while Russia reported the most deaths (533).

UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced the end of all travel restrictions imposed to prevent COVID-19 in the UK, beginning this Friday.

France will no longer require people to show vaccination cards or wear face masks in enclosed spaces, except for hospitals, medical facilities, nursing homes, and public transportation.
