Countries react to Resolution establishing an international force in Gaza

(VOVWORLD) -Several countries have reacted to the Resolution, drafted by the US, that was adopted this week by the US Security Council, aiming to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip by establishing an International Stabilization Force (ISF) there.

Israel welcomed the Resolution, saying President Donald Trump’s peace plan will bring peace and prosperity to the Gaza Strip. In a statement on social media platform X, the Office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed confidence that President Trump’s peace plan will also promote cooperation and expand the Abraham Accords between Israel and other countries in the region.

The Palestinian authorities described the Resolution as “a first step on the path toward peace.”

Speaking to the press in Manila during an official visit to the Philippines, Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin said that many issues still need to be resolved, including respect for international law in implementing President Trump’s plan, the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, and the establishment of a Palestinian state in subsequent phases.
