(VOVworld) – The Crimean Parliament voted 78 to 3 on Tuesday for a “declaration of independence for Crimea and the city of Sevastopol” in response to the Ukrainian Parliament’s threat to disband the Crimean Parliament unless Crimea cancels its referendum by Wednesday. The Crimean Parliament closed Crimea’s airspace to commercial flights, except flights to Moscow. This has caused a Ukrainian airplane to turn back to Kiev. Crimean authorities intend to seize a Ukrainian naval fleet at Sevastopol and vessels of a Ukrainian state joint-stock company.
