Cultural events across Vietnam welcome spring

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology presented a program Sunday featuring the culture of Bac Giang province – Quan ho folk singing, folk games, and traditional foods, as well as Tet specialties like chung cakes, calligraphy, and Dong Ho folk paintings.

The ancient town of Hoi An organized a festival to mark the death anniversary of the founder of Kim Bong carpentry village. This carpentry was started in the 15th century by carpenters from northern Vietnam and flourished in the 18th century.

“The festival includes industry, agriculture, and fisheries, not just carpentry. In the past Kim Bong carpentry ranked first among these occupations and 65% of the village population was engaged in carpentry. But now people have shifted to other jobs like bricklaying and fishing,” said carpenter Huynh Ry of Kim Bong village.
