Czech Ambassador praises Vietnamese government’s effort to combat COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - The Czech Ambassador to Vietnam has thanked the Vietnamese government for arranging a flight to bring home nearly 300 Czech and EU citizens on March 25.

During a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung in Hanoi on Wednesday, Viteslav Grepl praised the Vietnamese government’s effort in the fight against COVID-19 and thanked Vietnamese medical staff for successful treatment of a Czech citizen in Vietnam, known as patient 53.

Deputy Minister Dung appreciated the Czech Republic as one of the first EU country to have ratified the EU Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement, saying that he was pleased with the EC approval of the EU Vietnam Free Trade Agreement on Monday.

He said Vietnam is ready to cooperate with the Czech Embassy to address Vietnamese repatriation issues and asked for the host country’s support to the Vietnamese community in the epidemic.
