(VOVworld) - Da Nang city’s Buddhist Sangha held the 9^th Buddhist Congress for the next 5 year term. The Congress sets the goal of encouraging Buddhist monks and nuns to be good citizens and religious followers, take part in such campaigns as blood donation, environment protection and fight social evils. The Da Nang Buddhist Sangha has successfully organized many Buddhist events and ceremonies and maintained its program for the poor. Venerable Thich Thong Dao said:“The Da Nang Buddhist Sangha has done a good job, including social charity work. In the next term, we will work with the municipal authorities to implement various programs and hold training courses for Buddhist monks and nuns and followers.”
