(VOVWORLD) - Da Nang has won the 2018 “National Green City” title and will compete with 21 other cities around the world in the final round of the International Green City contest for the prize "Global Green City".

Organized by the World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF), the contest calls on cities worldwide to take actions to create an environment-friendly globe able to minimize and adapt to climate change.
This year 132 cities in 23 countries took part in the contest, including Da Nang, Hoi An, and Dong Ha.
Da Nang successfully persuaded the jury with its comprehensive solutions for climate change adaptation and minimization. Each participating city had to submit a report on specific commitments and programs to reduce carbon emissions during its development, particularly in environment, transportation, housing, energy, food, and water resources.
