The product has undergone multiple stages of inspection by specialized agencies of the two countries for pest control, food safety and hygiene, packaging and traceability.

Luu Van Khoi, Director of Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade, told a ceremony in Krong Nang district on Wednesday that this is a very important event because Japan is a major partner in free trade agreements with Vietnam and also one of the largest markets for macadamia in the world today.

"The successful export of macadamia products to the Japanese market will open up many opportunities for businesses in Dak Lak province in general and Krong Nang district in particular to access the world market,” he added.

From 2016 to 2020, the total export turnover of Vietnam's macadamia nuts reached 59.6 million USD. The macadamia export value is aimed to reach about 400 million USD in 2030 and 2.5 billion USD in 2050.
