(VOVworld) - Danish Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen met with Le Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on Wednesday as part of his visit to Vietnam.

Liem said Ho Chi Minh City is striving to become a smart city and a major economic and financial hub of the region.

He stressed the support of local authorities for the Danish Active House project – to build the first energy-efficient house in Vietnam with funding from Denmark and make it a highlight of Vietnam-Denmark cooperation.

Jensen said businesses from Denmark are willing to share their experience in developing sustainable urbanization and improving the environment and living standards.

The same day, Jensen visited the Denmark-invested plant of the Scancom Vietnam Company at the Song Than industrial park in Binh Duong province.
