Son, who is also head of the Vietnamese delegation, said Vietnam pays attention to promoting development cooperation with developing countries within the Greater Mekong Sub-region and ASEAN. Vietnam launched 10 projects and sent 300 experts to African countries to transfer technology, provide training, support agricultural development, reduce poverty, and ensure food security.

Son shared lessons learned from South – South cooperation projects, like matching Vietnam’s strengths to the needs of developing countries, and effectively combining the financial assistance of development partners with Vietnam’s technical expertise. Mr. Son said Vietnam has been sharing its experience in innovation and global integration with developing nations, especially economic reform while ensuring growth, environmental protection, cultural development, social progress, equality, poverty reduction, agriculture, education, and health care.

Son said South – South cooperation needs to continue strengthening solidarity and the shared interests of developing nations, and promoting multilateralism and fulfillment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Son asked the UN and development partners to continue supporting South – South collaboration for a world of peace and shared prosperity.
