Deputy PM asks absolute safety for May 22 elections

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has asked for close collaboration between the traffic police and relevant agencies to ensure absolute safety for the upcoming 14th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils elections for 2016-2021.

Speaking at a meeting with the Traffic Police Department in Hanoi on Friday to examine preparations to ensure security, order, and safety during the elections, Mr. Binh urged the agency to make sure that inspections, forecasts, and analysis are performed efficiently, towards swiftly rolling out plans to deal with any problems that can might during the event.

Mr. Binh highlighted the significance of the political event, adding that public security forces and the traffic police in particular should be the main forces in the operation.

On the same day, Deputy PM Binh also held a working session with representatives from Hanoi Police’s Department of Road and Railway Transport, during which he stressed the need to ensure political security, traffic safety and order in the city during the elections and US President Obama’s upcoming visit to Vietnam.
