Deputy PM calls on G20 to support developing countries

(VOVworld)- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh has asked G20 members to increase support for developing countries in infrastructure, human resource development, technology transfer, and climate change response.

Attending the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bonn, Germany on Thursday as representative of the APEC 2017 host country, Mr. Minh highlighted the importance of global cooperation in implementing the 2030 Agenda, adding that the stability of the global economy is a crucial condition for sustainable development, especially for developing countries.

He said that trade is a driver for economic growth and job creation, while calling for countries to increase collaboration in boosting global and regional trade and to build a balanced multilateral trade system serving development and operating on the basis of law, ensuring that all countries and people benefit from economic growth.

At the opening ceremony

He affirmed that as the host of APEC Year 2017, Vietnam is working with APEC member economies to strengthen sustainable, creative, and inclusive growth.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Deputy PM Minh met Spanish Foreign Minister Alfonso Dastis and German Foreign Minister Sigma Gabriel.
