(VOVworld)  - Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai began a visit to Finland on Wednesday. Earlier Hai attended the Vietnam-Netherlands economic cooperation forum in The Hague which attracted representatives from more than 150 Vietnamese and Dutch companies.

In his opening speech, Hai said bilateral cooperation in trade and investment has opened a new development period and called on the two business communities to tap their great cooperation potential, especially in education, agriculture, garments and textiles, energy, and ship building. Deputy PM Hai said:

Vietnam and the Netherlands agree that bilateral trade and investment cooperation has entered a new stage of development. In many forums, we have discussed trade and investment models. For example, the Dutch government has proposed a dredging project on the Mekong River under a public-private partnership. A fund will be established for enterprises to participate instead of using the state budget. This project has lifted bilateral relations to a new height towards a more sustainable growth.
