Deputy PM inspects COVID-19 response in Ho Chi Minh City

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, who is Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, paid a working visit to Binh Chanh district in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday before social distancing was imposed.

Mr. Dam said Ho Chi Minh City must take drastic steps to fight the pandemic. He stressed the need to classify patients in order to examine and take samples efficiently, and to carefully monitor the pandemic situation in markets and industrial parks.

He added, “It will be essential to reassess the situation after 15 days of social distancing. Each street and each district needs to take steps to promote safety. Samples should be collected in a careful manner to avoid large gatherings and further spreading of the disease”.
