Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh holds telephone conversations with Chinese and US senior diplomats

(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held a telephone conversation with Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Friday on the occasion of the lunar New Year. As co-chairmen of a bilateral steering committee on cooperation, both leaders discussed measures to strengthen ties following a phone conversation by the General Secretaries of Communist Parties of Vietnam and China on Wednesday to promote comprehensive strategic partnership on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
The same day, Pham Binh Minh held a phone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss bilateral ties as both countries celebrate their 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Mr Kerry conveyed his new year wishes to Vietnamese government and people and repeated his administration’s invitation to Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong to visit the US. Both discussed steps to finalize negotiation on the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement.
