Mr. Dam said he believes that Ms. Flowers will make active contributions to the Vietnam-UNICEF cooperation for the sake of Vietnamese children. He said children care and protection is a focal mission in Vietnam’s sustainable development, but Vietnam is facing several challenges in this field, including limited resources and the wide development gap among regions. Mr. Dam asked the UNICEF to help Vietnam mobilize sufficient and sustainable resources and improve Vietnam’s capacity in child protection, care, and education, including a national plan on preventing child abuse for 2020-2022, protecting children on cyberspace, and reducing child drownings.
