Deputy PM receives Sri Lanka ambassador

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Sri Lanka should work closely to boost bilateral cooperation, especially in the area of economy, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on Thursday at a meeting with Ambassador of Sri Lanka Walpita Gamage Parasanna.

Mr. Minh expressed his belief that the upcoming election of the Sri Lankan parliament will be a success adding that the policies that Sri Lankan leaders are implementing will make bilateral ties more effective. Ambassador Prasanna said Sri Lanka considers Vietnam an important partner in Southeast Asia and wants to receive further support on  the part of Vietnamese leaders in enhancing bilateral relations. He congratulated Vietnam on its effectiveness in containing the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.
