Addressing a national press conference organized by the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission in Hanoi on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Dam suggested that in 2022, agencies and associations continue to strengthen the Party’s leadership, the State’s management, and coordination between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the press’ line organizations to create uniform leadership and management of press activities. He urged for quicker implementation of the national plan on press development and management until 2025 and maintain their role and orientation of revolutionary journalism.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that to outperform social networks, the press should be informed as transparently and quickly as possible, calling on ministries and localities to provide to the press with updated and accurate information on issues of public concerns. He also suggested promoting digital transformation, applying effective measurement technologies, fighting false information, handling violations of Vietnamese laws, well managing cross-border platforms, especially social networking platforms, protecting the interests of the press on cross-border platforms, and developing a healthy, domestic social network. Deputy Prime Minister Dam requested the Vietnam Journalists Association to strengthen education on professional ethics for journalists and promptly protect their  legal and legitimate rights.

On this occasion, Party Central Committee’s  Communications and Education Commission honored the Voice of Vietnam World Service (VOVWorld) with a certificate of merit for its outstanding achievements in informing the world about  Vietnam.
