Mr. Minh said the Ambassador worked to promote mutual trust and comprehensive partnership on the basis of respect to each other’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. During Ambassador Osius’ term, economics, trade, and investment were made the main pillars of Vietnam-US ties and the two countries enhanced humanitarian cooperation, notably in post-war aftermath recovery, and people-to people diplomacy.

Mr. Osius hailed the development of Vietnam-US relations bilaterally, regionally, and globally. He noted closer cooperation in UN peace keeping activities and promised to continue contributing to stronger ties in whatever future position he may hold.
