Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue meets with Samsung Vietnam leaders

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has applauded Samsung’s contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

He made the remark at a reception in Hanoi for General Director of Samsung Vietnam Shim Won-hwan and Deputy General Director of Samsung Vietnam Choi Joo Ho, a future successor of Mr. Shim. Deputy PM Hue wished Mr. Choi success in his upcoming tenure in Vietnam during which Samsung will work more closely with the Vietnamese government. Mr. Hue said Vietnam has recorded significant achievements in attracting foreign direct investment in the past 30 years and is now taking steps on enhancing the quality and effectiveness of FDI attraction and use until 2030. He reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policies of supporting local businesses’ engagement in the global value chain while facilitating foreign businesses in Vietnam. Deputy PM Hue asked Samsung to pay more attention to research and development to turn Hanoi into one of Samsung’s R&D centers, develop the semi-conductor industry in Vietnam, and increase localization rates.
