He pointed out the shortcomings relating to relocation and resettlement of the project. Deputy PM Dung called for increased resources for disadvantaged people in the area and analyzing competitive advantages of new resettlement areas to see whether or not they are in line with development plans. It also involves the restructuring of the agricultural sector of Son La, Dien Bien, and Lai Chau provinces towards establishing a commodity production zone linked with small and medium-sized processing industry.

Earlier Mr. Dung and the delegation burned incense in commemoration of heroic martyrs at Son La Prison, a special national relic site.
