The Dialogue stressed the need for more dialogues, experience sharing and cooperation to effectively exploit this energy source.

The event drew the virtual and in-person participation of more than 200 domestic and foreign experts. It was jointly organised by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation. Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, deputy head of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, said: “The participants discussed the role of international law in assuring security for the infrastructure needed to build a renewable power grid. This is a new area with fast-changing technology, so it is essential to increase dialogues and mutual understanding and work together on exploiting new technology for shared benefits.”

Ocean Dialogue is an opportunity for experts to discuss opportunities and challenges in realizing the potential of offshore renewable energy, and how to minimize risks to coastal infrastructure systems.
