Diplomatic corps informed of the outcomes of the National Party Congress

(VOVworld) – The Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations held a press conference to inform diplomatic corps and foreign organizations on the outcomes of the 12th National Party Congress. Head of the Commission, Hoang Binh Quan, said the Congress successfully concluded after 9 days of meeting. The delegates had open, democratic discussions, approved important documents, and decided on 6 key tasks and directions for national development in the future.

For the economy, the Congress aims to obtain a higher growth rate, focus on quality and sustainable development targets, improve productivity, promote the role of the market and economic sectors, and push ahead with international integration.
Regarding politics, the Congress stressed the tasks of building a transparent, strong Party, combating corruption and waste, promoting democracy, ensuring human rights, and fine tuning the socialist state governed by law in line with the 2013 Constitution.
On diplomacy, Vietnam will insist on its external policy of independence and self-reliance for peace, cooperation, and development, diversification and multilateralization of international relations, active integration, and being a reliable friend and partner, and responsible member of the international community.

Quan informed the delegates about the election regulations, procedures, and results. He thanked foreign parties and organizations for supporting the 12th National Party Congress. He said 248 congratulatory messages from foreign parties and organizations are profound encouragement for the Congress, illustrating their close relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam.
