Dong Nai imposes provincewide social distancing

(VOVWORLD) - The southern province of Dong Nai on Friday began 15 days of stringent social distancing under the Prime Minister’s Directive 16 as the COVID-19 pandemic worsens.

Residents are required to stay home and only go out for basic necessities such as buying food or medicines or to work at factories or businesses that are allowed to open.

People must stay at least two meters apart from each other, and no more than two people can gather at public places apart from workplaces, schools or hospitals.

The majority of public transportation will be shut down and there will be no travel to other localities.

People’s committees at all levels, COVID-19 prevention and control groups and other forces were asked to oversee those who are self-quarantining at home and those coming from Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and pandemic-hit areas.

The province has recorded 175 cases, including 143 infections in the current wave of outbreaks since April 27.
