The teleconference was co-hosted by France and the UN following a blast last week at the Beirut port, fueled by thousands of tons of ammonium nitrate that had been improperly stored there for more than six years. The blast devastated much of the city and killed 160 people. Dozens are still missing and nearly 6,000 people are injured.

France, the EU, the UK, Germany, and some other countries committed to aid Lebanon.

The International Monetary Fund said it is ready to redouble its efforts to help Lebanon after the devastating explosion, but Lebanese institutions need to show willingness to implement reforms.
