The meeting focused on green tourism and discussed the responsibilities of member localities in the upcoming events. The delegates vowed to help localities maximize their natural advantages to develop sustainable green tourism and expand their development in culture, art, and the economy. Pham Ngoc Thuy, Director of the Quang Ninh provincial Tourism Department, said: “Through such meetings, Quang Ninh can connect the tourism industries of Northeast Asian and Southeast Asian countries, which is crucial, particularly in developing green tourism. Detailed policies, regulations, and responsibility assignments are also needed.”

The East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum was established in 1999 in Gangwon province, Republic of Korea, to boost cooperation between East Asian tourism industries towards sustainability. The Forum now has 10 members, including Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province.
