EC President calls on members to agree on economic recovery budget
(VOVWORLD) - President of the European Commission Charles Michel sent a letter to 27 EU member states asking for consensus on a budget for economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said a deal is essential and now is the time. The EU needs to find solutions and come to an agreement, for the greater benefit of their citizens. He said agreement will require hard work and political will from all.
The leaders of 27 EU members are scheduled to meet on Friday and Saturday in Brussels to discuss an EU budget of over 1 billion euros for the next 7 years. It will be the first face-to-face meeting since travel restrictions were applied to prevent the pandemic. They are expected to form a 750-billion-euro fund for economic recovery.
