Cabinet members and local leaders reviewed the socio-economic, defense, security, and diplomacy situation in the first half of this year. The economy grew 5.73 percent in the period, while foreign diplomacy and international integration produced positive results, with several trade and investment deals worth billions of USD signed. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: “We have good reason to expect economic growth of 6.7 percent this year. The target is within reach, judging by the rapid recovery of key sectors and a number of favorable domestic and global indicators. Vietnam’s economy went from stable to active, as shown by its innovation index jumping 12 places in June. I urge greater efforts and stronger reforms, particularly in production and business management agencies and localities, focusing on key economic zones and major cities and provinces.”

Prime Minister Phuc asked ministries, sectors, localities nationwide to boost industrialization and infrastructure and credit growth.
