Egypt accuses Qatar of funding terrorists in Libya
(VOVWORLD) - Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that its UN delegation in New York has accused Qatar of arming and financing terrorist organizations in Libya.

Egypt’s Ambassador Tareq al-Qunni, Assistant Secretary of State for Arab Affairs, said Libya has become a safe haven for terrorists during Tuesday meeting held at UN headquarters in New York on the challenges of combating terrorism in Libya. Qunni said this poses a threat to Egyptian national security. The Egyptian delegation stressed the importance of reaching a political settlement in Libya and urged the UN to step up efforts to achieve a political agreement.
Qatar’s UN representative claimed that multiple reports have failed to indicate Doha’s involvement in any activities that threaten Libya’s stability.
