Egypt, France address MENA crisis

(VOVworld) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Marc Ayrault on Wednesday in Egypt to discuss the solution to the crisis in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Minister Ayrault proposed holding an international conference of the Arab League to re-launch the Palestinian-Israeli peace process that began 30 years ago.
He said the Israeli-Palestinian tensions could trigger others to increase conflict and fuel extremism. France would not “automatically” recognise a Palestinian state if the Paris initiative to host an international conference to revive peace talks fails, Ayrault added.
