Egypt opens Gaza border for month of Ramadan
(VOVWORLD) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has decided to open the Rafah crossing with Gaza for a month, allowing Palestinians to cross during the holy period of Ramadan.

In an announcement on Facebook late Thursday, Sisi said that the decision aimed to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian residents in the enclave.
Sisi's announcement comes after some 60 Palestinians were killed and 2,700 others injured by Israeli fire on the Gaza border earlier this week. It was considered the bloodiest violence in the region over recent years.
