Representatives of the NGOs proposed measures to support Vietnam’s socio-economic expansion, health care, science, technology, climate change mitigation, support for poor communities and ethnic minority groups, and women and girls’ empowerment.

Olivia Hearn, CEO of the Christian Noble Children’s Foundation, said Vietnam has attained great achievements in poverty reduction and that British NGOs want to contribute to solving Vietnam’s other challenges through projects.

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long said people-to-people diplomacy is an important part of the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership, especially as both countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year. The Vietnamese Embassy is ready to support the operations of British NGOs in Vietnam, he said.
