Embassy promotes Vietnam’s culture in Japan

(VOVWORLD) - Diplomatic missions and international friends on Wednesday were treated to "sound and soul of Vietnamese culture" at a special event in Japan organized by the Vietnamese Embassy.

Thai Thu Hong, spouse of Vietnam’s Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, said, "The program honors Vietnam’s unique cultural values through timeless musical experiences, including the UNESCO world cultural heritage of Hau Dong mediumship ceremony and the melodious sound of the T’rung, a bamboo musical instrument from the Central Highlands. Attendees and guests can also participate in traditional dances of Vietnam’s Northwestern region, such as bamboo dancing and “inh La Oi.”

"Together, we will explore the unique and fascinating cultural values of Vietnam and strengthen our friendship," she added.

At the event, international guests practiced playing traditional musical instruments and manipulating puppets to the accompaniment of the Swan Lake music.

The event was jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre, and the Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society.
