Embassy takes actions to support victims of toxic gas leak in Jordan

(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia and Jordan said it has asked Jordan’s agencies to support Vietnamese citizens injured by a toxic gas leak at Aqaba port on Monday.

Tran Minh Khoi, First Secretary in Charge of Consular Affairs at the Embassy, said that after learning about the incident, the Embassy immediately worked to verify information about the 12 victims and their families.

The Embassy also visited the seven Vietnamese workers who were injured by the gas, he added.

For the five Vietnamese killed in the incident, it has arranged expedited visas for representatives of the Vietnamese companies that sent them to Jordan to come complete repatriation procedures.

According to Mr. Khoi, the seven survivors are staying in a hotel following hospital treatment.
