Enhancing Vietnam-China friendship and cooperation

 (VOVworld) – Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong has affirmed the need to further enhance the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Hong made the statement in an interview granted to People’s Army Newspaper on Tuesday on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China on January 18th. Hong said the traditional friendship over the years is a precious asset for the two nations, adding that the continuous bolstering of the relation is the wish of both peoples and matches fundamental interests of the two countries.

Hong said various activities have been held on this occasion. Leaders of the two parties and governments exchanged congratulatory messages. Meetings, banquets, and celebrations were organized at the embassies of both countries with the attendance of state leaders. The Chinese Embassy and Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism co-organized a photo exhibit to review the development of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties over 65 years.

Ambassador Hong said Vietnam and China should foster solidarity and cooperation amid complicated global developments. He called for both to strengthen solidarity, and cooperation toward a joint development, and increase strategic exchanges between the two Parties, governments, and armies to share experience in Party and state management. Vietnam and China should have more practical cooperation for mutual development and prosperity and boost people-to-people exchanges.
