(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and his entourage returned to Vietnam on Sunday, concluding official visits to Russia, Germany, and Poland.

Tran Van Hang, Head of the NA’s External Affairs Committee, told the press the visits had political significance. They also showed Russia, Germany, and Poland’s high regard for Vietnam. Leaders of the three countries pledged comprehensive political, economic, and cultural cooperation with Vietnam, and agreed to exchange views and support each other’s views at international forums. Mr. Hang said: "During talks with the Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, Speaker of the Russian State, and Prime Minister Medvedev, Vietnam and Russia agreed to assist each other at international forums on issues of mutual concern. Russia agreed with our stance and viewpoints to solve disputes in the East Sea. In Poland, the two sides dealt with fundamental regulations toward forming a strategic partnership. The Polish President accepted an invitation to visit Vietnam later this year. Poland considers Vietnam an important part of its External Strategy and a bridge for Poland to extend cooperation with ASEAN and Southeast Asia."

Vietnam and Germany identified 8 specific areas for cooperation. The Vietnam – German Parliamentary groups pledged to enhance cooperation to effectively support their legislative agencies.

Mr. Hang said the Vietnamese communities in the three countries have paid special attention to the revisions of the 1992 Constitution. Almost all of them affirmed the Party’s leadership in national construction and defense. They proposed various recommendations on policies and mechanisms to help overseas Vietnamese stabilize their lives abroad and contribute to the nation.
