Eurozone urges Italy to revise budget
(VOVWORLD) - Eurozone finance ministers urged Italy on Monday to respond to European Commission (EC) demands for a new budget after the EU’s executive wing rejected Italy’s original budget.
The Commission, which oversees EU countries’ budgets, said it considers the budget submitted by Italy’s government out of line with the rules and Italy’s promises to reduce public debt. Eurogroup Chairman Mario Centeno said Italy should submit a revised 2019 budget that is in line with EU rules.
