EVFTA to create huge economic opportunity in post-pandemic
(VOVWORLD) - Europe has described the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) as a great opportunity for goods and enterprises on both sides particularly in the post-pandemic period as the Vietnamese National Assembly ratified the agreement on Monday.

Pier Giorgio Aliberti, Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam said the EVFTA will contribute to economic growth and trade exchanges between the two sides. Vietnamese people will have opportunities to buy high quality European products at more reasonable prices. He said Vietnam is enjoying greater advantages than other countries in the region and this is an opportunity that Vietnam needs to seize.
Many newspapers in Austria on Monday wrote that the EVFTA is a golden opportunity for Vietnam and Europe and should not be missed. The website for the Austrian Economic Chambers said Vietnam is a country with stable economic growth exceeding 7 percent last year, adding that it is a competitive network economy, with a growing middle class and young, dynamic workforce. Vietnam will be a center for technologies and a start-up incubator in Asia, it stressed. With the EVFTA ratified in Vietnam, Austrian firms will find it easier to access the Southeast Asian market, said the website.
Germany’s DW said the EVFTA is the most ambitious trade deal the EU has signed with a developing country. Vietnam is the EU’s second largest trade partner in ASEAN after Singapore.
