(VOVworld) - A “Festival of India” will be organized in Vietnam in March, with the aim of introducing the rich and vibrant Indian culture. The festival was announced at a press conference held by the Indian Embassy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi on Friday. 

The event will take place in the three major cities of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh, with a wide range of activities, including classical dance recitals, a Buddhist festival with the participation of Indian monks, and a celebration of Indian food.

Indian Ambassador Preeti Saran expressed her hope that through the festival, Vietnamese people would come to understand more about Indian customs and its traditional culture.  She said the event would help to foster the two countries’ friendship and cooperation.
